Jeremy lives in Toronto, Ontario where he plays, teaches, writes and arranges music for guitar, piano and bass. His teaching studio is located right in the heart of midtown Toronto at Oakwood and St Clair West. Jeremy began his career (and life) as the son and student of Gary Gontier (ARCT), a very successful and sought-after guitar teacher in the Barrie area.
After many years of achievement in the Kiwanis Music Festival as the top award winner in the guitar categories, Jeremy was featured in the prestigious Rosebowl competition at Georgian College.
He also receivied top marks from the Royal Conservatory of Music in both guitar and piano. He began playing with his first group Mercy Blues soon after, which had great success as a cover act featured in many blues festivals and establishments in central Ontario.
Jeremy began his teaching career at seventeen working for Lindys School of Music, George Wehby Guitar Studios and Seven Seas Music Studios in Barrie before making the move to the big city at the age of twenty-two.
He has spent most of his twenties with the rock group Stirling, which has seen great success touring internationally ( Berlin, London, Montreal ) behind two well received albums ( Northern Lights, 2004; The Fall of the Winter Palace, 2007 ). Both are available at a music store near you. Stirling has had three videos featured on Much Music as well as appearing live on MTV Canada. Stirling's soundtrack credits include the T.V. shows Whistler, Joan of Arcadia, and Radio-Free Roscoe....
