Barb Rogers has a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors. She serves clients living in many areas of the Lower Mainland from her office in the South Surrey/White Rock area.
It is normal for you to feel confused, angry, hurt, lonely, frustrated, sad, worried, stressed out, or overwhelmed at certain points in your life. During those times you might struggle with what to do, or where to get support. You might not even know where to start. Barb can help. She will give you an opportunity to talk about what is going on, offer you feedback, provide you with options, and help get you headed in the right direction. Barb is very optimistic that change is possible and utilizes different techniques to get you there. Many situations are similar, but your particular circumstance is unique. Barb can help you best by using her knowledge and insight to create an individual approach, based on your needs and requests, and the issues at hand. For example, if you are feeling sad or worried: You might benefit from a simple reframing of the problem; you might benefit from learning how to better manage stress; you might benefit from developing positive thought patterns. There are many different routes though the counselling process that lead to positive outcomes. Barb will help you find the one that is best for you, and walk you through it. Barb has a special interest in parenting issues. She recognizes the importance of early life experience; understands the complexities involved in child rearing; values and respects children of all ages; and has a desire to help make parenting as rewarding as possible. If, in meeting the daily demands of parenting, you are experiencing more stress than satisfaction, or, if you would like you to feel more confident with your parenting, Barb has the knowledge, skills, and ability to facilitate getting you and your family back on track.
