Description
Hello everyone and welcome to the Lost Lake Lodge. We, Julie and Francois, are your hosts for the time of your stay. Julie is originally from Shenyang, in China, and Francois was born on the Gaspe peninsula, in Eastern Canada.
We both met in Vancouver in 2006 and lived together in Singapore until 2013. Julie was a Mandarin teacher and Francois was a journalist and photographer prior to his career as a French language translator, interpreter and lecturer in South East Asia.
We are both travelers and visited most countries in East Asia and North America. In Singapore, we made friends with a lot of expatriates, mostly from Europe and North America. We really enjoyed sharing stories and getting to know about other places and different cultures. However, our work and traveling pace slowed down when our son, Louis-Guillaume-Shenzhi, was born. From there, we thought that Francois's native country would be a greater place for Louis-Guillaume to grow up. So we booked a flight for Vancouver and travel the West Coast of Canada in order to find a new home for him.
After a few months looking around, we found 5307 Lost Lake Road in Nanaimo as a new listing on the Web. Two months later, we moved in. It did not take us long to realize that this house was too big for the three of us. Also, we were surprised to find locals walking, cycling and driving by in order to enjoy the view.
Also, we were missing the multicultural aspect of Singapore and those gatherings we used to have over there with those friends from all over the world. Hence, one day, we thought: 'Instead of traveling to see the world, why don't we invite the world to see us here?'.
This is how The Lost Lake Lodge was born and our property is no compromise at all compared to what any other good old-fashion Canadian sportmen lodge has to offer.
The long paved front porch is spacious yet discreet. The entrance is wide and a stone wall drops down the staircase has it curves to reach the double front doors Our balcony and dining room stand at eagles height. The breathtaking view is exclusive and unique. The lodge is really a great place to stop by, eat well, take a deep breath and cease the day.
You are very welcome here so drop by anytime soon!
