My family and I have moved to the West end from the Edmonton Garrison. I have over 20 years of childcare experience, with over 14 years experience in day home/daycare. I have my childcare supervisor diploma (level 3), my child welfare, criminal record check and current first aid and CPR. I am an accredited day home through North Edmonton Family Day homes only minutes from West Edmonton Mall! Nutritious lunch and 2 snacks included in the fee. The meals and snacks follow the Canada Food Guide with 4 food groups provided for lunch and 2 food groups provided for snacks. Plenty of fruits and vegetables along with dairy served daily. Children have vast amounts of room to explore, learn and play. The day home has been set up according to government stipulations. Children engage in directed play, free play, outdoor play and science discovery. The day home has numerous centers: block play, gross motor play, dramatic play, music, literacy, fine motor play, water play, arts and crafts, fine motor, sensory play and puzzles. The day home runs on a thematic basis, with the theme changing every week to 2 weeks. Themes include: zoo, ocean, all about me, construction, emergency, forest friends, arctic, numbers, shapes and colors, as well as holiday themes such as Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and Halloween. Children go outside daily with free play and directed activities. Regular field trips, depending on theme and weather, included in the programming. Field trips include but are not limited to: the park, sea adventure and bus trips. The images provided contain the various centers available. Items in the centers are changed based on theme. The images are based on the zoo theme. The themes includes activities that engage the children in numerous developmental criteria such as fine motor, gross motor, vocabulary and many many more!
