My art education includes studies at the Toronto Art Centre, and the Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver. Along with my painting work, I have been emersed in the world of glass; and have constructed many projects and instructed many people in the art of stained glass for 30 years.
In my paintings , I like to work with transparencies. Glazing allows light to meander through the layers of paint, popping shoots of colour like flowers blooming. Painting with light and colour relationships lend well to my glass work too. I also enjoy the physical demand of glass work, building the structural panels of obvious form. I am conscious of my intrigue with dimension and I look for ways to challenge and/or balance the dimensions. In my explorations with paint and glass, I can create works that involve both; and I encourage you to visit my website to see the wonders of ceramic painting and double glazing.
