As a professional dog trainer, I have encountered many people who love their dogs unconditionally, but who cannot understand their dog's behaviour. There is a great deal of information out there on the ways that dogs behave, but where do you start and what can you believe?
Unlike other schools which employ an "all-positive approach", K9 Dojo's training methods are balanced. Rather than using treats to get our dogs to perform tricks to behave, we compel them to adhere to our commands by motivating them with tender, loving care. At K9 Dojo, we never yell at our dogs, and we certainly don't punish them. By employing this style of training, your canine will respect you and your commands the first time. I will teach you to teach your loyal companion to adhere to your initial command, so you only have to say things once, never repeating yourself as if you were talking to your significant other. I call this the First Command Response Training System. The way I see things, every time your dog makes a mistake, it's an opportunity to redirect their behaviour in a positive way. We stand proud of our training methods because they're effective in the real world. We train owners to better understand their role as pack leaders, and dogs to be a respectful member of their pack.
