I have actively been doing tree work for over 28 years, some of which time was spent working on many heritage trees in London, England. An aesthetically pleasing look can be obtained to most trees while simultaneously correcting the problem at hand.
My preference is to treat the tree as opposed to removing or falling it, though I do admit there are occasions when this form of action is necessary. I take great pride in my work as I truly care about trees and how they enhance the quality of urban society. The job of treating trees is both highly skilled and dangerous and it is advisable to use a firm with adequate experience. With careful thinning and selective pruning, the health and natural shape of a tree is preserved and the procedure is required less often. If poorly carried out, both the health and shape are lost.
