My name is Markus Staley. I have had a camera in my hand from my 6th birthday. I remember my birthday so clearly…getting my kodak camera complete with those 4 sided flash cubes and those mysterious rolls of film… it all seemed so magical. Well here I am just a little over 50 yrs old and I still have a camera in my hand.
While I only use film now and then with some of my wedding sessions, most of my work has shifted to digital. But really what is the goal of working with a camera?? My goal is to communicate and connect to other human beings… my clients and the viewers of the photograph. I think of myself as a visual story teller. I love what I do, and I value the way my camera has allowed me to connect and communicate with you. You see, I have never grown up… to me photography still is magical.
