1847 is the realization of the longtime vision of 3 local entrepreneurs’, Catherine Smith, Rob Marchand, and Brett Barnett; a bistro and bar that boasts great food, great wine, great atmosphere at an affordable price. We want you to feel as if you are coming to our home for dinner from the moment you walk through the door.
Our focus is locally sourced, seasonal cuisine, working with our partners to provide contemporary Canadian inspired menus, with a French influence. Our wine list includes Canadian wines, as well as a select international wine list. Our beer selection supports Canadian local micro breweries, as well as a healthy list of international beers. Our location and our name were chosen to celebrate the downtown Brooklin heritage district. Original buildings on this site and throughout the heritage district were built in 1847. Our objective is to reignite the original charm and ambiance of this vintage building, providing a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
