The Spiral Movement Center offers somatic re-education services for a wide range of clientele and needs. We offer guidance in relaxation and pain management, recovery from chronic injury, alignment and postural analysis, ergonomics, and movement therapy for those people seeking relief from bodily pains and difficulties. We also offer advanced instruction in bodymind training for athletes, yogis, artists, rock climbers, dancers and other people interested in breaking through internal barriers and discovering their own human potentiality.
All work at the Spiral Movement Center is highly individualized to sensitively address a clients needs. People come to SMC from all walks of life, from special needs children to athletes and artists. All sessions offered are by appointment only and range from $80-$130hr/session depending on the type of therapy. Founders Stephanie Gottlob & Yuji Oka are somatic pioneers who have developed Spiral Praxis, a cutting-edge somatics discipline that has offered revolutionary contributions to many technical somatics applications. Their chronic injury work, for example, is based on a gentle manipulation process which actively engages both client and instructor and has allowed many people to recover from injuries that traditional techniques have not been able to address. They have also created new teaching approaches in fitness, yoga, meditation, breathing and other fundamental bodymind activities. Currently Gotltob & Oka teach an 800 hour ISMETA-approved training program for serious students and professionals in the field of somatics. They are both Registered Somatic Movement Therapists.
