Dr. Stephen holds a number of post-secondary degrees in a diverse set of fields including a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (Forensic, Adult, and Child emphasis) from Simon Fraser University, a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, and a Ph.D. in Computing Science from Simon Fraser University.
He has specialized training in Violence Risk Assessments, Suicide Risk Assessments, Domestic Violence Safety Planning, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Indigenous Cultural Competency. Dr. Stephen is also a certified Clinical Traumatologist through the Truamatology Institute of Canada. Approved internships and practica were completed at Surrey-Fraser Valley Regional Forensic Services Clinic, Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) – Child and Youth Mental Health, MCFD – Aboriginal Child and Youth Mental Health, North Fraser Eating Disorders Program, and Simon Fraser University Clinical Psychology Centre. Additionally, Dr. Stephen was trained in the areas of forensic, adult, and adolescent clinical psychology in a private practice setting.
